Regional Agricultural research station, Jagtial organized technology mela and conducted field day on 04.11.2020 to show the performance of technologies in different crops. In this mela Stalls have been arranged to explain about the emerging technologies and to create awareness on crops. Dr.R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Jagtial organized the programme and formally invited the guests on to the dias. In this programme . In this programme, ADR highlighted the technologies that were practiced at research station in different crops and efforts of research station for bringing latest technologies to the farmers fields, also enlightenend the farmers and public representatives about the pest management practices and nutrient management practices that were followed in the experimental plots of research station to overcome the seasonal pest, diseases and also protecting the soil fertility . Hon’ble M.L.A. Jagtial, Dr. Sanjay Kumar gaaru , Jagtial MPP, Gangaram goud, AMC chairman, Damodar Rao, PACS Chairman, Mahipal Reddy, other public representatives visited the technologies adopted at research station. Hon’be M.L.A. sanjay kumar gaaru while adressing the scientists said that the research station is striving towards betterment of farming community by conducting innovative research and creating awareness on latest technologies in different crops. He also advised the farmers to follow the suggestions of scientists and agriculture officers. He recalled that government appointed agricultural extension officers for every 5000 acres to guide the farmers in cultivation of crops. In this programe Dr.P. Revathi explained about the technologies adopted in paddy i.e. Machine transplanting, dry converted wet system of rice cultivation, direct seeding of rice, Alternate wetting and drying (AWD)system of water management in paddy. Sri. P. Gonya Nayak created awareness on seed production aspects and highlighted the reduction of application of urea up to 50% due to raising green manuring crops before transplanting paddy. Sri.S. Omprakash created awareness on control of BPH and IPM practices i.e formation of alleyways to prevent BPH attack. Dr. D. Padmaja explained about the sesamum varieties suitable to different seasons, time of sowing of the crop and minikits of sesamum . Dr.P. Ravi explained about the LTFE experiment and highlighted that good paddy yields were seen in plots in which potash was not applied and 100% RDF NPK plot. Dr. B. Laxmi Prasanna explained about the paddy minikits JGL 28545 in 2nd yr minikit & JGL 27356 which is in 1st year minikit stage. Ms.N. Navatha explained about the cultivation of super napier grass and aspects like fodder yield, duration and raising the crop. On this occasion Hon’ble M.L.A. gaaru felicitated the farmer Kumbam Gopal Reddy from Pudur village of Jagtial district for practicing direct seeding of rice cultivation. In this programme brand ambassadors, sarpanch and farmers of RARS adopted village participated and enlightened by the technologies available at research station. Swarnasri, DAOs, DAO, Jagtial, Suresh , DAO, Peddapalli, Thirumal Prasad, DAO, Karimnagar, Sridhar and scientists of research station participated in the event.
