Training Programme on “VERMI COMPOST PRODUCTION” under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) on 12-11-2020

KVK Bellampalli Mancherial organized on campus training programme on “Vermi compost Production” to the rural youth on 12.11.2020 at KVK,Bellampalli, Mancherial District under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) 2020-21. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Programme Coordinator, KVK Mancherial addressed the farmers about the importance of farmyard manure, green manure in relation to increasing the crop yield without deteriorating the soil fertility. Further, he suggested the farmers should follow weather-based advisories in major crops of the district like rice, cotton and redgram and also explained about adverse effects of stubble burning and management of crop residues. Dr I.Thirupathi,SMS (Crop Production) interacted and discussed with the farmers on vermicompost preparation and production by using crop residues and bio wastages. Explained about complete production technology of vermi composting includes selection of site, materials and waste required, different methods and procedure of vermicomposting, selection of worms, separation techniques and discussed about the benefits and problems in vermicomposting etc. Also covered the nutrient composition in vermicompost, its uses, dose and time of application of vermicompost to agriculture and horticultural crops. For this programme, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri.A.Nagaraju, SMS(Plant Protection), Smt. U.Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture), Dr. Satish, SMS (Agrometeorology) and Mr. R Mahesh Kumar, SRF (Fisheries) along with the public representatives (Village sarpanch) and 29 No. of Tribal farmers from manneguda village of Nennela mandal were participated .
