A training programme on INM and IPDM in various agri and horticultural crops under ICAR SC Sub plan was organized at the adopted village, Gudur, Kothur (M), Rangareddy district by College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, on 06.11.2021. As a part of the training programme Dr. B. Rajeswari, Professor& Convener, Village adoption Programme has explained about various diseases affecting the crops like paddy, redgram, cotton and vegetables. Dr. S. Upendhar, Associate Professor Entomology has explained about the various pests affecting the crops like paddy, redgram and vegetables. He demonstrated the establishment of fruitfly traps and recommended to keep 4-6 fruitfly traps per acre. Dr. M. Venkateswara Reddy, Associate Professor, Horticulture created awareness on growing of vegetable crops suitable for yasangi and suggested that crops like beans, onions, English cucumber, tomato and watermelon crops can be grown after harvesting the vanakalam rice. Dr. K. Shailaja, Assistant Professor, Soil Science has explained about integrated nutrient management in various agri & horticultural crops and explained about the usage of biofertilizers. Dr. I. Shakuntala Devi, Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics has explained that the integrated nutrient management and Integrated pest and disease management are the recommended practices with reduced usage of agro-chemicals further has huge demand in market which will reap sustained yields and returns thereby benefiting the Indian farmers. The Village Adoption team of scientists, village sarpanch and around 50 farmers has participated in the programme.
