Training programme on “Agroforestry systems and Sandalwood cultivation” 05-11-2022

A training programme on “Agroforestry systems and Sandalwood cultivation” was organized on 05-11-2022 to SC farmers at Avancha village of Thimmajipet mandal, Nagarkurnool district under SC subplan by Dr. T. Chaitanya, Scientist (Soil Science), Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Sr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head, AICRP on Agroforestry. In this programme, Mr. Sai Ram, AEO, Mr. Ajay, Sarpanch, Mr. Munnirudin, Vice Sarpanch,Mr. Ushanna, Rythubandu Co-ordinator and 30 farmers participated. At the outset, Dr. T. Chaitanya explained about selection of quality saplings and best management practices in sandalwood cultivation. Later Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu explained about, “Har Med Par Ped” a submission on National Agroforestry policy - 2014, wherein he discussed about tree-based farming in integration with agricultural crops and also about boundary and bund plantation. The saplings of mango, sapota and sandalwood were distributed to SC beneficiary farmers for boundary plantation. At the end, few saplings of mango and sapota were planted by farmers besides the rythu vedika of Avancha village.
