Training programme to the Agricultural Officers/Agricultural Extension Officers and Farmers of Nagarjunasagar ayacut area at ARS, Kampasagar on 23-08-2022

Agricultural Research Station, Kampasagar has organised seventh and last training programme on “Capacity Building to the Agricultural Officers/Agricultural Extension Officers and Farmers on Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) for Nagarjunasagar Ayacut Areas” on 23-08-2022 at ARS, Kampasagar under NABARD project. Dr. N. Lingaiah, Senior Scientist & Head, ARS, Kampasagar has given progress report and activities taken up under this project for the year, 2021-22. Dr. M. Goverdhan, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Palem has attended the meeting as a chief guest and emphasized the importance of Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) in the present scenario which can improve farmers income, nutritional security and improve soil health and fertility condition. He has explained one hectare IFS model which fits better in the ayacut areas. Sri. Vinay Kumar, DDM, NABARD, Nalgonda, addressed the gathering about different schemes which are being implemented for the benefit of farmers by the NABARD. Smt. P. Nagamani, ADA (R), Miryalaguda suggested the farmers to adopt convenient IFS models for better income generation. Dr. Prasad Vas, Veterinary Asst. Surgeon explained the management of poultry, fisheries, cattle, sheep and goat which are the components of IFS. In this programme Dr. V. Sridhar, Scientist (Pl. Br.) and Dr. G. Shiva Prasad, Scientist (Pl. Br.) of ARS, staff of KVK, Kampasagar and 30 farmers have participated. The programme has ended with the visit of one hectare model IFS unit at ARS, Kampasagar.
