Training Programme cum Method Demonstration on “Best Management Practices in Agriculture & Horticulture crops” by Agricultural Research Station & DAATTC, Tornala in collaboration with Agricultural College, Siricilla on 23-09-2022

A training programme cum method demonstration on “Best Management Practices in Agriculture & Horticulture crops” was jointly organized by Agricultural Research Station & DAATTC, Tornala collaboration with Agricultural College, Siricilla on 23-09-2022. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist, ARS, Tornala. Later, as part of training programme cum method demonstration on Best Management Practices in Agriculture & Horticulture crops Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala addressed the gathering on the nutrient management in field and horticultural crops. Dr. R. Sathish, Assistant Professor (Ento), Agricultural College, Siricilla has spoken about Pest management in field and horticulture crops and also demonstrated different types of pheromone and sticky traps for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in field and horticulture crops . Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist (SSAC), ARS, Tornala discussed on the soil related problems and their management in various crops. Mrs. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala on Pulses seed production- problems and prospects. Dr. E. Uma Rani, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala on paddy seed production-problems and prospects. Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agro.), ARS, Tornala on water management in kharif crops, Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (TOT), DAATTC, Tornala on weed management in kharif crops. The programme was attended by Sri Devayya, Sarpanch, Sri K. Nagesh Reddy, RSS President and also 25 progressive farmers. Finally, the programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala. Later, visited farmers’ fields of agriculture and horticulture crops, based on crop problems and suggested recommendations.
