Training programme on "Better Management practices in paddy and Maize" under Tribal Sub plan, 2022-23 by KVK, Malyal

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Training programme on Better Management practices in Paddy and Maize under Tribal Sub Plan project, 2022-23 at Doravari vempalli, Kothaguda Mandal of Mahabubabad district on 10-02-2023. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) & Co-PI of the project briefed about the objectives of this training programme and explained the activities to be taken up in the project,. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained Paddy seed treatment and importance of seed treatment in Paddy, nursery management. Direct seeding, dry seeding (Dry and Wet seeding), drum seeding technology in Paddy were also explained. She also spoke to farmers about Alley ways in paddy. Also explained in detail about fall armyworm management in maize and also reiterated about integrated pest management practices like installation of yellow sticky traps, pheromone traps, border crop, usage of Trichoderma and Pseudomonas, PSB application etc. Later, distributed Vyavasaya Panchangam Books to 25 no. of tribal farmer beneficiaries from TSP adopted village (Doravari vempalli of Kothaguda Mandal). Sri J. Uday Kumar, MAO, Kothaguda Mandal, Sri B. Ramaswamy, Village Coordinator and 63 no. of farmers and farmwomen from this TSP village participated in the programme.
