A three day training and capacity building on millet-based products under Indian Council of Agriculture Research SC-Sub plan 2019-2020 was conducted from 18.02.2020 to 20 -2-20 at Post Graduate & Research Centre, College of Community Science, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University Rajendrangar, Hyderabad. A total of 11 PG and PhD students belonging to Foods and nutrition, Resource management and Consumer Science, Human development and Family studies attended the training. Experts from CFTRI, NIPHM and food technology consultants were invited for training. Grain storage, primary processing secondary processing, packaging and nutrition labelling were taught in theory and hands on experience was given on various processing technologies at the millet processing and incubation centre of the university. A visit to the extrusion processing unit was also arranged. The participants felt the training has given an insight in to the opportunities for entrepreneurship through millet processing. The entire training was organised by Dr.T.V. Hymavathi, Professor and university Head, Department of Foods and Nutrition and Mrs. E.Jyoshna Assistant Professor. Dr. Ratna Kumari, Dean Community Science and Dr. Satyanarayana, Dean College of Agriculture, Rajendrangar were present for the inaugural and valedictory sessions of the training programme.
