Training Programme on “Crop residue management” by KVK, Malyal through virtual mode on 10-01-2022

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized training programme on “Crop residue management” through virtual mode on 10-1-2022 to Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) of Mahabubabad district. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) gave a presentation on the theme of the day. He pointed out that every year, around 500 million tonnes of crop residues are produced from three major crop like paddy, cotton and maize throughout India per year and majority of the farmers burn these residues rather than adopting eco friendly methods of incorporation into soil or composting for further use. Later, Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal, stressed the importance of crop residue management and aimed that AEOs shall act as “wheels of change” for popularizing effective crop residue management among farmers. In this programme 2 A.Os, 36 AEOs from Department of Agriculture, Mahabubabad participated.
