Training cum demonstration of Phosphorus Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) and High Density Planting System (HDPS) in Cotton - village adoption program in Mallapur, Kottur under College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 24-06-2023

Village Adoption Programme team under the guidance of Dr.C.Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar visited the adopted village Mallapur, in Kottur mandal.  An interaction meeting was held on 24.06.2023.
The following aspects were discussed

  1. Importance of HDPS cotton
  2. Usefulness of PSB (liquid and powder formulation) for agriculture and horticulture crops
  3. Adoption of new minikits in Paddy
  4. Herbicide usage in Cotton and other crops
  5. Collection of soil samples
  6. Awareness on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques

          After the meeting,  PSB samples were given to farmers. PSB usage was demonstrated in farmer’s field. Rasi Cotton hybrid 665 was mixed with PSB powder. It was ensured that PSB inoculation was proper with the seed.Cotton hybrid Rasi 665 which was inoculated was taken up for sowing in HDPS method in one acre farm belonging to the farmer Sri.Kondaiah. 90x15cm spacing was followed. As ample amount of rainfall was received in the last two days. Sowing was taken up on 24.06.2023 Farmers, staff were involved in HDPS demonstration to the satisfaction of all the villagers.
