KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial district organized a Training and Diagnostic field visit of redgram (WRGe 97) distributed under Cluster Front Line Demonstrations (CFLDs) of Pulses under NFSM for the year 2021-22 and also conducted a diagnostic field visit in Cotton at Babapur village of Asifabad mandal of KB Asifabad district on 17th December, 2021. Firstly, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial addressed the farmers on Integrated Pest Management of Pod Borer Complex in Redgram as a part of Cluster Front Line Demonstrations (CFLD) Pulses under NFSM for the year 2021-22. Suggested the farmers to monitor the incidence and Infestation of Pod Borer Complex and suggested to take up need based plant protection measures before pest (Pod Borer Complex) reaching the ETL levels. Later conducted a field visit in the redgram WRGe 97 distributed to the farmers under CFLD (Pulses). Further Sri. Srinivas Rao, District Agriculture Officer, KB Asifabad addressed the farmers on crop diversification, soil test based fertilizers application and suggested to cultivate alternate crops for yasangi rice to avoid the major pests in the crop and suggested the farmers to take up inter cultivation operations for better crop growth and yields. Later as a part of the programme, Sri. Nagaraju Alugoju, SMS (Plant Protection) along with staff and farmers conducted a diagnostic field visit in cotton fields and diagnosed pink boll worm at ETL level, suggested the farmers to destroy the cotton by the end of the December and suggested to cultivate Sesame and Sunflower under irrigated conditions.For this programme KVK Scientists Dr. B. Ramu and Ms. Swathi, A.E.Os of Asifabad mandal of KB Asifabad District, Public Representatives Sri. Mallikarjun, MPP, Sri. Ali, Chairman, PACS, Smt. Laxmi, Sarpanch, Babapur, Smt. Parvathi Bai, Sarpanch, Ankushapur, Sri. Durgam Daavu, RBS Coordinator and 84 No. of farmers were participated.
