Training Programme on Application of Insecticides through Drone Technology in Pigeonpea and Distribution of PP Chemicals to FLD Farmers for the year 2024-25 at RARS, Warangal on 05-11-2024

A training programme on “application of insecticides through drone technology in pigeonpea and distribution of plant protection chemicals to FLD farmers” at RARS, Warangal on 05-11-2024. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Warangal, chaired the programme and apprised the farmers for cultivating pulses crops and also stabilization of pulses area in erstwhile Warangal district. During the training program drone instructor Dr.S.Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology) educated the farmers about key technical points like height of the drone movement on the crop canopy while spraying, dosage of chemicals and speed of the drone movement. Later Dr. N. Sandhyakishore, Scientist (Plant breeding), emphasized on the regular monitoring of crop during flowering stage initiate required crop management practices to realize to get higher crop yields. Later the officer-in-charge of FLD Pigeonpea Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about implementation of FLD’s with a competitive spirit for getting higher yields and also briefed about water management at critical stage of the crop. Dr. D. Veeranna, Scientist (Entomology) and Dr. G. Padmaja, Scientist (Plant Pathology) were explained about pest and disease management in pigeonpea respectively. At the end of the programme, plant protection chemicals and pheromone traps distributed to the beneficiary famers. In this programme, about 50 farmers from different mandals of Hasanparthy, Damera, Beemdevarapally mandals of Hanamkonda district, Tekumatla of Bhupalpally district, Geesukonda, Wardannapet, Nallabelli and Zaffargad of Warangal district were participated.
