DAATTC-ARS, Tandur organized one day off campus farmer’s training program on ”Integrated Crop Management” in High Density Planting System in Cotton under special project on cotton, ICAR-CICR titled “Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones-large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton productivity” under NFSM 2023 at Pudur (vil&m) Rythuvedika, Vikarabad district on 12.10.2023. Mrs. C.Yamuna welcomes the farmers & guests later Mr. T. Laxman, Coordinator, DAATTC, Tandur explained about the objectives of the Project & briefed the gathering about the activities taken up under HDPS cotton. Dr. C. Sudhakar, Principal scientist, ARS, Tandur given the overview on HDPS cotton when compared to traditional cotton cultivation. He suggested the farming community that there is much need to increase the yields of cotton, for which farmers must follow the new technologies and management practices. He aslo explained the importance and advantage of the HDPS cotton and the crop can be harvested by December end then the farmer can go for sowing of green gram or black gram crops by January 2nd fortnight. Dr. C. Sudha Rani, Principal Scientist & Head, ARS, Tandur explained about the Weed, nutrient and Irrigation management in HDPS cotton, Dr. T. Rajeshwar Reddy, Scientist (Plant Pathology), explained about the management of sucking pests and boll warms and also explained about Integrated pest and Disease management in cotton. Conducted farmers –Scientist interaction, in this few farmers where scientists clarified the doubt raised by the farmers later conducted felicitation to the guests after that lunch followed.
