Training programme on “Kitchen/ Nutrition Gardening” to Extension Functionaries at KVK Malyal on 11-12-2024

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized training programme on “Kitchen/ Nutrition Gardening” to Extension Functionaries at Jains Bhawan, Dornakal on 11-12-2024.Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about kitchen gardening, terrace gardening and balanced diet through Powerpoint presentation. He highlighted the importance of protective food in our diet, minor millets, growing of vegetables in backyard to ensure nutritional security. He requested the participants to promote organic vegetables in their respective villages and reiterated that farmers should grow all the required vegetables in their farm or backyard for balanced and diversified nutrition and also become self sufficient to meet the vegetable requirement of their families. Smt. D. Laxmi, CDPO, Dornakal requested the participants to promote organic vegetables at Anganwadi centers to meet the vegetable requirement. A total 9 ICDS Supervisors and 137 Anganwadi teachers from Dornakal division participated in the programme.
