Training Programme on “Kitchen/ Nutrition Gardening” to Extension Functionaries was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal at MPDO Office, Maripeda on 19-02-2024. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about kitchen gardening, terrace gardening and balanced diet through Powerpoint presentation. He highlighted the importance of protective food in our diet, minor millets, growing of vegetables in backyard to ensure nutritional security. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal requested the participants to promote organic vegetables at Anganwadi centers in their respective villages and reiterated that farmers should grow all the required vegetables in their farm or backyard for balanced and diversified nutrition and also become self sufficient to meet the vegetable requirement of their families. Smt. K. Shireesha, CDPO, Maripeda requested the participants to promote organic vegetables at Anganwadi centers to meet the vegetable requirement. A total 8 ICDS Supervisors and 30 Anganwadi teachers from Maripeda cluster participated in the programme.
