Electronic Wing, PJTSAU and MANAGE, Hyderabad has jointly organized online training programme on “Mobile Journalism for effective Transfer of Technology for Extension Officers” from 19th – 23rd Aug, 2024. Chief guest of the Inaugural session Dr. B.Jamuna Rani Director of Extension, PJTSAU, Hyderabad in her introductory remarks stated that skill set of Extension worker plays an important role in effective transfer of technology and using mobiles for effectively communicating the agricultural advisories in real time to the farmers is of prime importance. Dr.A.Sreenivasacharyulu, Dy. Director (Knowledge Management), MANAGE, Guest of honor of the event said that biggest and most powerful significant breakthrough of 21st century has been the introduction and proliferation of the Smart phone and MOJO, can be instrumental in real time communicating the agro advisories to the farmer and requested the participants to use the skills learnt through this training and serve the farmers and clients in better way. The first session was led by Dr.Kusuma Krishna Shankar Associate Professor, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islam University, Delhi, who focused on Emergence of MOJO - Opportunities and future challenges in Agriculture, and Various tools of Mobile Journalism (MOJO) and in the second day 1st session was dealt by Dr.Ravdeep Singh, Asst. Professor, GADVASIU, Ludhiana Punjab who presented on writing skills for mobile Journalism and Content writing for mobile journalism [Audio/Photo/Videos] and in the 2nd session Dr.Madhavi Ravi Kumar Asst.Professor , Dept. of Communication, HCU, Hyderabad shared techniques for the effective ways of content creation titled as Mobile Story telling, on the 3rd day, the session was on Video Journalism, Video capture /Editing/Processing and Publishing, and skills in Application of Virtual reality and augmented reality in video making by mobile apps dealt by Dr. S.Rajesh Khanna, Director, Universal Handwriting Academy, Rajamundry, and on 4th day Audio Journalism, Preparation of Jingles and podcasting by Mobile Apps was presented by Dr.Manoj Deori, Associate Professor, HCU , Hyd. followed by a session on Photo Journalism: Apps for taking Photo by Mobile. Dealt by expertee Dr.Kamma.K.Babu Asst.Professor & Regional Industry Coordinator, NIFT ,Hyd. On the final day Dr.Vinayak Nikham, Senior Scientist, NIAP, ICAR, New Delhi presented on ways to Impact Assessment of Mobile Journalism. The Course organizing team constituted of Dr.A.Sreenivasacharyulu, Dy. Director (Knowledge Management), MANAGE, Dr. M. Sreenivasulu Course Director and Coordinator, Dr.J.S. Sudha Rani, Scientist (Agronomy) and Dr. K. Rajamani Scientist (SSAC) Electronic Wing. About 35 participants from across India attended the five days online training programme.
