Training Programme on Mulberry Thotalu Mareyu Pattu Purugula Pempakam on 28-01-2020 by ARS, Karimnagar

The training programme was organized on 28.01.2020 at Gram Panchayat Office of adopted village Perkapally, adopted village of ARS, Karimnagar on “Mulberry thotalu mareyu Pattu purugula pempakam. Dr.G.Usha Rani, Scientist(Pl.Br.) incharge for adopted village welcomed the dignitaries on to the dias and invited the farmers. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist(Agro.) and Head, Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar presided over the meeting and addressed the gathering and briefed that the main aim of the meeting is to diversify the farmers towards other allied sectors of farming for sustainable income and overall development of their livelihoods and to overcome environmental risks of taking up only agriculture. The Assistant Director, Sericulture, Karimnagar Sri M. Adi Reddy imparted training on cultivation of mulberry crop and its maintenance, construction guidelines of rearing shed, silkworm rearing, feeding habits of silkworm, moulting, marketing facilities and incentives. He also mentioned the success stories of farmers in sericulture. The village sarpanch Sri.B.Komuraiah, Village Market Committee Director, Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Extension Officer Sri Katam Raju, adopted village brand ambassadors P.Srinivas, P.Shankaraiah, M.Sadaiah, P.Ramulu, M.Janpayya, A.Ramesh and around 60 to 70 farmers attended the meeting and few of them shown interest and registered to take up sericulture as allied activity.
