One day training programme on “Seed production technology in field crops” was conducted on 02-11-2021 by Seed Research and Technology Centre, Hyderabad at adopted village of RARS, Warangal, i.e. Meedikonda, Station Ghanpur mandal, Jangoan district. The training programme was started by inviting all the resource persons and village representatives on to the dais by Mr. P. Shiva kumar (Scientist, Agri Economics) convenor of adopted village programme RARS Warangal and he briefed on the objectives of training programme. Dr. K. Parimala (Sr. Scientist, Pl. Br. SRTC, Hyd) explained about the critical interventions of seed production in Paddy crop, Dr. K. Rajendra Prasad (Scientist, Pl. Br. RARS, Warangal) elaborated the basic principles of seed production in all crops, Dr. N. Sandya kishore (Scientist, Pl. Br. RARS, Warangal) given a brief account on Seed production techniques in different pulse crops and packing material for seed storage, Dr. B. Anil Kumar (Sr. Scientist, Entomology, DAATTC, Warangal) described the management practices of different Pests in present crop condition. Dr. D. Ashwani (Scientist, Pl. Pathology, RARS, Warangal) explained the management practices of different diseases in Paddy and Cotton crops. Dr. V. Swarnalatha (Sr. Scientist, Pl. Br. SRTC, Hyd) presented the seed production techniques in Maize crop, Dr. Ch. Ramulu (Scientist, SSAC, RARS, Warangal) explained the fertilizer management in all crops. The queries raised by the farmers were clarified by all the scientists. Dr. R. Uma Reddy (Associate Director of Research RARS, Warangal) advised farmers to utilize the activities of adopted village programme conducting by RARS Warangal, he also emphasized that farmers should take the present situation as an opportunity to diverse from Paddy crop to other remunerative crops, he sensitized the farmers with different success stories of local farmers. The chief guest of the training programme Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao (Director, Seeds SRTC, Hyd) emphasized that adoption of new technologies will provide better income to farmers, he suggested the farmers to go for seed production in all crops in the village to maintain the quality and purity of seeds at farmers level. Finally farmers facilitated the Director of Seeds SRTC and ADR, RARS, Warangal for conducting such a useful programme to the farmers in their village. In this programme Dr. E. Narsaiah (DAATTC, Coordinator, Warangal), Dr. M Madhu (Scientist, Agronomy, RARS, Warangal), Agriculture Extension Officer, representatives of Deshpande foundation, village Surpunch, village RSS coordinator and around 100 farmers participated.
