Training Programme on Significance of Bio Fertilizers and Biocontrol Agents on 11-11-2021
Agricultural College, Jagtial on 11.11.2021 organized one day Training programme on “Significance of Bio fertilizers and Biocontrol Agents” with the financial assistance from ICAR under SC-Sub Plan scheme. The programme was inaugurated by the Dr. K.B. Suneetha Devi, Associate Dean i/c. She addressed the gathering about the role of bio fertilizers and biocontrol agents in agriculture. Dr. M. Uma Devi, Associate Director of Research, RARS (Jagtial) was the chief guest for the programme. She emphasized on role of microbes in soil fertility and motivated the farmers to subscribe the PJTSAU youtube video channel to learn about the latest technologies and agriculture related information. Dr. T. Yellagoud Assistant Professor (Plant Pathology) explained about the diseases of the agricultural and horticultural crops and later a method demonstration was conducted on the seed treatment with Trichoderma viridae and pseudomonos flourescens. Mr. A. Umarajashekhar, Assistant Professor (Microbiology) created awareness among the farmers about the role of bio fertilizers and their advantages while using in agricultural and horticultural crops; and method demonstration was done on the Azolla production protocol at farmer level. Later the farmers were supplied with the inputs i.e., liquid bio fertilizers with NPK composition and plant protection kits. Twenty (20) SC farmers from Gullapeta, Arpapally and Anantharam villages and the teaching faculty from the college Er. G. Pragna, Dr. O. Sampath, Dr. K. Chandra Shaker, Dr. G. Sheshu, Dr. G. Satyanarayana Reddy, Dr. P. Arun Kumar, Dr. V. Ratnakar, Dr. T. Srikanth, Dr. R. Saikumar, Dr. D. Karthik and Dr. T. Sravan Kumar have attended the programme.
