A training programme on “Suitable Crops for Rabi Season and Best Management Practices” was jointly organized by ARS, DAATTC & APT, Tornala on 01-11-2022. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist, ARS, Tornala. Later, as part of training programme Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala addressed the gathering on the suitable alternate crops to rice during rabi season and their economic viability. Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist (SSAC), ARS, Tornala discussed on modern farm machinery use in agriculture. Mrs. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala explained on suitable pulses for rabi season and their production technology. Dr. E. Uma Rani, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala explained about cultivation of rice during rabi season. Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agro.), ARS, Tornala discussed about sunflower cultivation during rabi season and production technology, Mr. J. Vijay, Coordintor, DAATTC, Tornala gave a talk on maize and jowar cultivation during rabi season and their production technology. Mr. A. Sathish, Assistant Professor & OIC, Farm, APT, Tornala took farmers for a field visit. The programme was attended by K. Sadhashiva Reddy, Bussapur sarpanch, 35 progressive farmers of Bussapur, Irkode and Ibrahimpur villages of Siddipet district. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl.Br), ARS, Tornala. Farmers, visited fields of APT and ARS, Tornala, discussed the problems and scientists suggested recommendations to farmers.
