Training Programme on " Technologies for profitable maize production" and distribution of input to the SC farmers under SC Sub Plan Programme under AICRP on Maize Organized by ARS, Karimnagar on 05-07-2021

Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar has organized training Programme on “Technologies for profitable maize production” and distribution of input to the SC farmers under SC Sub plan in research station premises for the SC farmers of Kothapally, Choppadandi, Chigurumamidi, Ramadugu, Gangadhara ,Sidapur mandals of karimnagar district and Akkannapet manadal of Siddipet district. Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br) welcomed the dignitaries on to the dias. The programme presided by Dr. G. Manjulatha, Principal Scientist (Agro) & Head, ARS, Karimnagar, briefed about SC Sub plan importance and objectives. Besides, she highlighted the research activities and achievements of the station. Dr.A.Vijaybhaskar, Senior scientist (Plant pathology) interacted with the farmers regarding pest and disease management particularly fall army worm of maize crop. Dr. E.Rajinikanth,, Scientist (Agro) briefed the crop production technology of maize crop to the farmers, Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br) explained about important characters of different public and private maize hybrids under cultivation in the district. Dr. K.Madanmohan Reddy, Scientist (Extension) emphasized the importance of AKPS, Subscription to university website and magazines etc. The chief guest of programme Sri. . V.Sridhar, DAO, Karimnagar, appreciated the ARS team for organizing training programme and stressed on importance of maize crop as it is used in many ways as feed, food and many industrial uses. 10 kgs of Karimnagar makka-1 seed, Tarpaulins and sprayers were distributed to 207 SC farmers under SCSP progrmme of AICRP on Maize. In this programme, MAO s of respective mandals, ATMA officials, progressive farmers and around 210 number of farmers participated in the meeting.
