A Training programme on “Production technologies of rabi sunflower along with “Demonstration of borax spray through drones in sunflower” was organized at Tukkapur village on 04-03-2025 by Agricultural Research Station & DAATTC, Tornala. In this programme, Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala enlightened farmers on importance of secondary and micronutrients in oil seed crops. Further, she also explained that boron plays a vital role in seed filling of sunflower and increase in yields of sunflower crop. Later, Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agronomy), ARS, Tornala discussed about importance of oilseeds in crop diversification and production technologies in sunflower, water and nutrient management in oilseeds. Dr. E. Umarani, Scientist (Pl. Br), ARS, Tornala explained about important aspects of seed production such as time and isolation distance maintenance in sunflower cultivation. Sri. J. Vijay, Coordinator, DAATTC, Tornala explained about pest and disease management in sunflower. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (TOT), DAATTC, Tornala explained about opportunities of mechanization in sunflower and its advantages such as labour and time saving. Later, demonstration of borax spray@0.2% through drones in sunflower field was carried out in farmers field and sunflower farmers have raised problems and scientists suggested solutions. The programme was attended by Sri. Mohan, MAO, Sri.Rajesh, AEO, Tukkapur and 25 farmers of the village.
