Training programme on Yasangi crops and distribution of Paddy seeds under Tribal Sub Plan, 2022-23 by KVK, Malyal on 06.12.2022

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Training programme on Yasangi crops to tribal farmers under Tribal Sub Plan project, 2022-23 at KVK, Malyal on 06-12-2022. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) & Co-PI of the project briefed about the objectives of this training programme. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) explained about suitable crops to be grown during upcoming Yasangi season in place of Paddy, varietal characters of distributed Paddy seed (KNM-1638), seed treatment, nursery management, direct seeding and drum seeding technology in Paddy. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about Sesamum crop cultivation and available varieties in this crop. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained the activities to be taken up in the project, importance of seed treatment in Paddy and explained in detail about Spodoptera and fall armyworm management in Maize and IPM in chilli with special emphasis on black flower thrips and wilt management. Later, distributed Paddy seeds (KNM-1638) to 50 no. of tribal farmer beneficiaries from Chakruthanda, Gudur mandal under Tribal Sub Plan, 2022-23. Sri L. Limba, Upasarpanch, Chakruthanda, Gudur mandal, 50 no. of farmers and farmwomen from this TSP village participated in the programme.
