Telangana Rashtra Avatarna Dashabdi Utsavalu or Telangana State Decennial Formation Day Celebrations were organised by the Government of Telangana in the historic context of the State entering the tenth year after its formation in 2014. June 3rd (Saturday) was celebrated as Telangana Farmers Day. On this occasion, the State Agriculture Department organized a grand meeting in the Rythu Vedika at Kottur. The programme was attended by all village officers, farmers men and women and included PJTSAU Village Adoption Team members. The programme highlighted the achievements of the state’s agriculture sector, such as free power, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and other schemes. Public representatives and officials spoke on the occasion. The program was a grand success. Speaking on the occasion, Dr T Ramesh, Convenor, VAP informed that, PJTSAU and CAR were continuously involved in disseminating the technologies of the university, progress made in evolving of new varieties suitable for different agro ecological situations, starting of new colleges, demonstrations conducted on agricultural and horticultural crops In the village Gudur, technology disseminated, impact of the village adoption programme, gaps identified in the village and strategies followed for their remedy, support of the university in conducting the programmes etc. the programme ended with participation of the Village adoption team in the Community dining along with all the farmers. In a separate meeting held in university auditorium, thirty six farmers were brought to college of agriculture. In the event that followed state agricultural minister appraised the gathering about the state initiatives and the way statehood was attained. Minister reiterated the benefits of free state and free will to the farming community. As a consequence progress has been achieved in all the spheres of agriculture and allied sectors. The event was a grand success. The VAP committee under the chairmanship of Dr C Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Dr T Ramesh, Convenor Village adoption programme and team members Dr. S. Upender (Entomologist) Dr. Y. Samatha Parameshwari, (Agronomist), Dr. K. Aruna (Extensionist) and Dr. I Shakuntala Devi, (Economist), other participants included Village sarpanch Sri.Byagari Sataiah garu, AEO Mrs. K. Anitha, ward members, Panchayat Secretary, farmers have participated and made the programme a grand success.
