The Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) programme was conducted on 28th February 2025 at Ramulutanda of Nawabpet village of Shivampet Mandal, Medak District, by AINP on Vertebrate Pest Management, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The programme aimed to equip tribal farmers with certain devices as well as knowledge to combat vertebrate pests threatening agricultural crops. As part of the initiative, 10 monkey guns and 5 tarpaulins were distributed to tribal farmers. Demonstrations showcased Agricanons, Agrisolar fences, and E-canon technologies to mitigate monkey and wild boar damage. Dr. V. Sunitha, Senior Scientist (Entomology), highlighted the role of Agrisolar fence as an eco-friendly deterrent, while Dr. S. Srinivasa Reddy, Scientist (Entomology), demonstrated the Agricanon’s effectiveness in reducing monkey crop damage. Fifty tribal farmers actively participated by sharing experiences and gaining hands-on training in vertebrate pest management. The programme concluded with an interactive session, where scientists provided solutions and assured follow-up visits. The initiative successfully empowered farmers with sustainable pest control strategies, reinforcing the need for ongoing research and support.
