Virtual MoU Signing between Dept. of Agril., TS, PJTSAU and ISB held at PJTSAU on 14-08-2020
The Department of Agriculture, Government of Telangana & Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural Univesity(PJTSAU) and Indian School of Business(ISB) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring up an executable strategic branding and marketing plan for the new paddy variety of RNR 15048 popularly known as ‘Telangana Sona’. The signing of MoU was held in Virtual mode on 14-08-2020. Dr B Janardhan reddy, Principal Secretary &APC Agriculture and cooperation department, Government of Telangana, Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and Professor DVR Seshadri, Clinical Professor Marketing and Executive Director, ISB centre for Business Markets, ISB were signed on MoU papers.While speaking on this occasion Dr B Janardhan Reddy and Dr Praveen Rao opined that, the ‘Telangana Sona’ would create brand image for Telangana State at the National and International level. With the visionary leadership and implementing of several innovative programmes by the Hon’ble chief minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao Telangana state has become surplus agricultural production & Productivity in several crops said the Dr Janardhan Reddy. He added that, there is a need to create marketing for agricultural produce to ensure the profitability to the farmers. Addressing in the virtual meeting Dr Praveen Rao had explained that, with the constant support from the Government of Telangana and Hon’ble CM Sri KCR, university has achieved 3rd Rank in the country and 1st Rank in south India among agricultural universities. He said that, farmers are facing three major challenges at the field level such as Risk, Increasing of cost of Production and profitability. To enhance the incomes of the farming community we need to create food value chain for agricultural produce. Professor DVR Seshadri of ISB also spoke on this occasion. Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Registrar PJTSAU, DNV Kumara Guru, Professor Manish Gangawar, Professor Madhu Viswanathan of ISB were also participated.
The Purpose and Objective of MoU ...The Collaboration between these three organisations has create branding and marketing plan for the new paddy variety of PJTSAU i.e RNR 15048 popularly known as ‘Telangana Sona’. The RNR 15048 is developed by PJTSAU with characteristics such as fine grain, high yielding quality and blast resistance. The objective of this Statement of Intent(SoI) is to enable ISB to conduct the required research and analysis and recommend a marketing and branding strategy for Government of Telangana. The SoI will also have the scope to explore other areas where the Dept. of Agrl., or PJTSAU and ISB could work together.
