Farmers Awareness Programme on Vyavasaya Digubadulapai Vaatavarana Prabhavam at adopted village, Veldhurthy, Jagtial on 29-01-2021

The Farmer’s Awareness Programme on Vyavasaya Digubadulapai Vaatavarana Prabhavam on 29.01.2021 was held at adopted village, Veldurthy, Jagtial, N. Navatha, Scientist (Agronomy) organized the programme. Dr. P. Jaganmohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, first pointed out the effect of adverse weather on crop cultivation and contingency planning to minimize the loss due to this adverse weather. Besides this also discussed about the necessity of weather forecasting not only the Agriculture sector but also the every step of our regular routine life. In this regard gave a clear view that how the farmers can decrease the cost of production by planning the different agricultural operation from sowing to harvesting according to the weather based Agro-Advisory. Then N. Navatha, Scientist (Agronomy) gave a brief introduction about the activity of AMFU Jagtial, under Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa. Firstly explained the weather factors and how they influence agricultural production. Then explained the main objectives of GKMS and pointed out the usefulness of AAS bulletin. Advised the farmers to follow forecasting for selecting the appropriate time for land preparation, sowing, harvesting and other agricultural operations. Finally explained meghdoot app and requested the farmers to download the Meghdoot app. Then other scientists also discussed favourable weather conditions for pests and disease problems in different crops. Farmers were very much interested about this programme. They demanded a brief discussion about weather and how it effect the crop cultivation and pest disease attack. They were also interested about the information transfer through Whatsup message. They agreed that the SMS service will be very helpful for them for deciding the perfect time for spraying, irrigation and fertilizer application. P. Suresh, District Agriculture officer, B.
