Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Programme Coordinator, KVK Mancherial addressed the farmers on present issues and problems in major crops of the district like rice, cotton and redgram and also briefed on weather based advisories to the farmers especially on redgram crop. Dr I.Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) interacted and discussed with the farmers on water stress and flower dropping in redgram. Waterstress at preflowering stage will affect the redgram yields and suggested the farmers to give atleast one irrigation if water stress/drought conditions prevails at the time of preflowering stage and suggested that spraying of urea @ 20 grs/liter water or Multi –K @ 10 gr/liter water will reduce the flower dropping in redgram. Later, Sri.A.Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection) discussed regarding the Integrated pest management in redgram. For this programme, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), U.Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture), Dr. Satish, SMS (Agrometeorology) and Mr. R Mahesh Kumar, SRF (Fisheries) along with the public representatives (Village sarpanch) and 33 No. of Tribal farmers from manneguda village of Nennel mandal were participated.
