Extension Education Institute(EEI), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad organized World Environment Day under Life Mission on 5 th June, 2023

Extension Education Institute, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad has organized World Environment Day on 5th June, 2023 by taking up tree plantation and conducting workshop on Organic farming and Natural Farming under Mission Life programme.The trees of Pulmeria and Ixora were planted by the EEI staff, and trainees attending the training programme. Dr.V.Sudha Rani, Director of Extension, PJTSAU, Dr.C.Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, and Member, Board of Management, PJTSAU were graced the programme by planting the trees and Dr. Sudharani has emphasized the importance of tree plantation to protect the environment. Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI, Hyderabad underscored the sprit and philosophy of the Life Mission to practice the sustainable practices like tree plantation to restore the past glory of the environment. A workshop was also organized on Organic and Natural farming by involving practicing farmers of Organic and Natural farming. Shri K. Prakash, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Regional Thematic Lead, RySS, APCNF, Guntur, AP has given a presentation on importance of Natural farming highlighting the nine universal principles of natural farming and Soil Health Indicators. Shri Sanjay Khalikar, Joint Director (Extension Training), and Shri. Manish Bhatia, Director (Administration), Directorate of Extension, Dept. of Agril. and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agri and Farmers Welfare, GoI have graced the occasion and offered introductory remarks by highlighting the importance of MissionLife programme in protecting the environment. 15 farmers, EEI faculty, and 87 trainees were participated. The workshop was organized in hybrid mode. Dr.D.Shireesha, Assistant Professor, EEI has Coordinated the programme. Dr.P.Vijayalakshmi, Professor, EEI proposed vote of thanks.
