Women protection cell activity on Anaemia awareness conducted at College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur on 29-06-2022

College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur conducted an awareness programme to the students regarding “Anaemia awareness” on 29-06-2022. Mrs. M. Prashanthi, Dr. Samreen, Assistant professors and Mrs. B. Shirisha, Superintendent were involved in conducting the programme to students of college. Dr. Padmaja Patil, General physician was invited to speak in the anaemia awareness programme. Discussion was made on the aspects of causes, symptoms for anaemia. Diet particularly that is to be followed to prevent aneamia in adolescent girls was discussed. Diet plans for anaemic patients were also explained. Apart from this, some of the aspects of personal hygiene were also discussed. The girls were made acquainted with products of personal hygiene that are used on daily basis. They were also made aware of problems related to usage of faulty products. Students were advised to maintain healthy diet and avoid junk food. There was good interaction with all the students and the queries were answered by the doctor. Many questions were asked by participants regarding food requirements to prevent anaemia in women and also to build immunity.
