The World environment day 2020 with a theme of Biodiversity-Time for nature was celebrated with teaching, non-teaching and out sourced personnel of college on 05.06.2020 at Agricultural College, Siriclla. The programme was commenced with the introduction and the significance of the day by Mr. T. Arunbabu, OISA. He mentioned the famous quote given by Ayn Rand, i.e., The difference between animals and humans is that animals change themselves for the environment, but humans change the environment for themselves. Dr. K. Rajesh, NSS Programme officer shared his views on the importance of the day. Later all the faculty and non-teaching staff shared their views about the importance of conservation of all natural resources, i.e., soil, air, water and environment to protect the biodiversity. Faculty speaks about using of bio-fertilizers in place of synthetic fertilizers will help to conserve and improve the soil fertility. They also stated the natural destruction like COVID-19 pandemic, Australia forest fire, Earthquakes and cyclones Amphan and Nisarga recently hitted the landfall in India and caused severe damage to both lives and property are occurred due to the imbalancing of inhabitation on the earth. The Associate Dean summarised created on awareness and action to be taken by the individual for the protection of the environment. The celebration ended with the pledge to protect our environment followed by planting of saplings in the college premises.
