Celebration of World Pulses Day, 2022 at Zilla Parishad High School, Karegaon, Kotagiri(Mdl), Nizamabad(Dist.) on 10/02/2022 by College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur

College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur, celebrated World Pulses Day 2022, on 10.02.2022 in Zilla Parishad High School, Karegaon, Mdl: Kotagiri, Dist: Nzamabad. Village adoption programme in-charges, Dr. J. Sai Prasad, Assistant Professor, and Smt. Prashanthi Meda, Assistant Professor organized the programme involving the staff of the school and students of 9th and 10th standards. Smt. Prashanthi Meda explained the nutritional and health benefits of pulses to the participants.Later, Dr. J. Sai Prasad, Assistant Professor highlighted the importance of soybean, which is one of the major crop in the village. Also, explained about importance of crop rotation with the legume crops and its role in enhancement of soil fertility to the students and staff of the school. As part of celebrations, quiz competition was conducted on pulses to the students and distributed the Prizes. All the precautionary measures like maintaining physical distance, wearing mask and sanitizing the hands were followed during the programme due to COVID 19 pandemic.
