World Pulses Day, 10th February, 2022 was celebrated at Agricultural Polytechnic, Jagtial in a befitting manner by organizing one day Work shop on Pulse production strategies for India duly involving the Principal and Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial, Scientists of RARS, Jagtial and Teaching staff of Agricultural College, Jagtial. During the programme, importance of pulse crops for nutritional security and improvement of farmer’s income was discussed in detail. The Role of Rhizobium in relation with pulse crops which is a unique association between legume crops and Rhizobium for yield improvement and enrichment of Soil fertility. On this occasion Elocution and Essay Writing competitions were conducted to the Polytechnic students on Production Strategies for Achieving Self sufficiency in Pandemic Scenario and Role of Pulses in Nutritional and National economy and the certificates were distributed to the prize winners. On this programme ADR & Principal, Dr. M. Uma Devi, Dr. D. Sreelatha, Principal Scientist (Agronomy), Vice-Principal, Dr. K. Sukumar, staff and students of Agricultural Polytechnic, Scientists from RARS, Jagtial and Teaching staff from Agricultural College were participated.
