Agricultural College, Jagtial organized World Soil Day-2020 in collaboration with Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) at adopted village Gullapeta, Jagtial Mandal on December 5th, 2020 with the theme of Keep Soil alive- Protect Soil Biodiversity. In this occasion Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Jagtial attended as a chief guest and released Soil Fertility Maps of Gullapeta village and distributed 120 soil health cards to the farmers. Later he explained about soil bio diversity and measures to be taken to protect biodiversity in soil. Dr. K. B. Suneetha Devi, Professor & Head, Agronomy stressed about soil conservation and practices to be followed for soil health management. Dr. K. Chandrashaker, Dr. R. Saikumar, Dr. A. Krishna Chaitanya, Sri. A. Umarajasekhar, Assistant Professor participated and explained about the importance of world soil day, interpretation of soil health card results, crop residue management to protect soil health and usage of biofertilizers and uses of biofertilizers. Sri Chandra Babu, District Manager, IFFCO explained about continuous use of fertilizers on soil health and liquid biofertilizers of IFFCO company. In this programme, Dr. O. Sampath, OISA, Dr. Y. Archana Karuni, Convenor, Village Adoption Committee, Staff of Agricultural College, Jagtial and farmers participated.
