Agriculture Polytechnic , Tornala celebrated World Soil Day on 05-12-2020 in virtual mode

The faculty and students of Agriculture Polytechnic, Tornala celebrated World Soil Day 2020 virtually on 05-12-2020. Thirty nine first year students of APT, Tornala participated in the celebration online from their respective places while thirty six second year students participated online from classroom of APT Tornala. Dr G. Padmaja, Director (Polytechnics) presided over the celebration. Dr S. Sridevi, Principal, Agriculture Polytechnic, Tornala introduced the event to the students and welcomed the eminent speakers, Dr P.C. Rao, Former Dean (Agriculture & PG Studies), PJTSAU, Hyderabad and Dr. K. Srinivas, Principal Scientist (Soil Science), ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. Dr. G. Padmaja spoke about the significance of World Soil Day and the need for celebrating it with Keep Soil Alive, Protect Soil Biodiversity as the theme for 2020. Dr. K. Srinivas spoke about the importance of soil biodiversity and measures to protect soil biodiversity. Dr P.C. Rao spoke on the topic of Soil Science in the context of pandemic. Dr E. Srinivas, Professor and Sri A. Satish, Assistant Professor coordinated the celebration.
