KVK, Bhadradri Kothagudem has celebrated World Soil Day, on 05.12. 2020 at APMC Market, Laxmidevipally, Bhadradri Kothagudem. Dr. G. Veeranna, Programme Coordinator has chaired the event and Sri. K. Abhimanyudu, District Agriculture Officer has graced the occasion as guest of honour along with department officials. Sri K. Abhimnayudu has explained the importance of Soil for the sustenance life of earth and our duty to protect the topsoil of the earth. Dr. G. Veeranna has explained in detail the crops and management practices which help in improving soil fertility like Green manuring, crop rotation, organic manures, etc. Few of the progressive farmers also shared their experiences on Soil conservation at the event. The participants have also viewed the live webcast of the address by Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shri. Kailash Choudhary on the occasion at Director Conference at ICAR, HQ. A total of 48 participants along with public representatives Smt. L. Padma (MPTC), Smt. Bukhya Padma (Sarpanch); Scientists Dr. V. L. Naryanamma (SMS, Plant Protection), Dr. R. Vishwatej (SMS, Extension), Ms. D. Vindhya SMS, (Agro Met.) and officers Shri G. Lalchand (ADA, Tech) etc., have attended the event. Dr. R. Vishwatej has proposed the vote of thanks to the participants, Department of Agriculture and media for making the event successful.
