You tube live programme on “World soil day” organized at RARS, Warangal along with Reliance Foundation jointly on this occasion Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, ADR participated and addressed the farmers on keep soil alive and protect soil biodiversity for protecting the soil health for longer period to sustain crop productivity for which the farmers has to apply farm yard manure, crop rotation and inter cropping with pulses and reiterated as soil is our life, conserve and save it. Dr.Ch.Ramulu soil scientist explained about how to improve soil organic carbon content in the soil for which reduce the tillage, incorporation of crop residues into soil and inter cropping with pulses and given slogan stand together and join the movement to stop soil pollution and erosion and take a pledge to keep them safe and secure for the benefit of our society and explained about food security and nutrition rely on healthy soils which are the foundation of our food systems. Nearly 80 per cent of the average calorie intake per person comes from crops directly grown in the soil. Nearly all plant nutrients are taken up from the soil and need to be present in sufficient quantity and availability in the soil. The nutrient supply to our crops and food relies in the first place on the nutrients present in soils. Two million people still suffer from lack of nutritional deficiencies. Soils are deteriorating worldwide, becoming less fertile. They provide fewer nutrients to plants, leading to serious nutrient deficiencies in crops, with direct consequences on human being. In this program Sri. Ramesh Gotte, Manager, Reliance Foundation (Warangal region) coordinated the meeting.
