Celebrations of World Soil Day on 4th December, 2021 at Adopted Village: Hegdoli, Mdl: Kotagiri, Dist: Nizamabad

World soil day was celebrated in adopted village Hegdoli under the sponsorship of State Bank of India (SBI) on 4th December, 2021. Before starting the programme the college was organized the quiz competition to the farmers at village. The programme formally commenced by the warm inaugural welcome by Dr. J. Sai Prasad. Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean, lead the programme and village adoption programme-in-charge Dr. J. Sai Prasad. Mrs M. Prashanthi and farmers were participated in this programme. Later on Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean spoke about soil role in quality of food, soil pollution, world soil day and soil health management. Kotagiri Mandal Agriculture officer Srinivas garu spoke about the crop rotation for replacing the Rice in Rabi season. Finally, SBI regional Manager and Kotagiri Branch Manager handed over the Cash Price in the form of check to quiz competition winner and runner-up farmers at village. Later, all the officials, farmers moved to the field and demonstrated on decomposition of rice stubble and seed treatment with Rhizobium culture to Bengal gram seeds. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Smt. M. Prashanthi, Assistant Professor and acknowledged the participants. All the precautionary measures like maintaining physical distance, wearing mask and sanitizing the hands were followed during the programme due to COVID 19 pandemic.
