PJTSAU celebrated World Soil Day-2021 at the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 04-12-2021 with fervor

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University celebrated World Soil Day -2021 (with the theme: Halt soil Salinization, Boost Soil Productivity) at the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 04.12.2021 with fervor in festive mode at the College Auditorium, College of Agriculture Rajendranagar. The programme was sponsored by the State bank of India and was presided over by Dr V Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU while Sri Amit Jhingran the Chief General Manager, SBI was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Sri Ram Narayana Boga , GM and Director, SBI RB, Dr Seema, Dean of Agriculture, Dr V Anitha, Dean of PG Studies and Dr C Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture were the guests of honour. During the programme, Dr V Praveen Rao, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor while addressing the gathering has briefed about India’s efforts in achieving self sufficiency in food grain production and the significant contribution of agricultural research in alleviating the poverty. Sri Amit Jhingran, the Chief General Manager, SBI and also the chief guest of the programme while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts of the University in serving the farming community and wished for many such collaborative programmes in due course of time. Dr Seema, Dean of Agriculture and Dr V , Anitha ,Dean of PG studies addressed on the occasion. The programme was attended by Dr R Jagadeeswar, Director of Research, PJTSAU, Dr P Jagan Mohan Rao, Registrst, PJTSAU, University officers, Heads of the departments, staff, students and bank officials. On the occasion prizes were distributed to the winners from different constituent colleges of the University in different events such as Elocution, Essay writing, Drawing and Video documentary. A guest lecture was also organized on the occasion on the theme Soil Health Key to Achieving SDGs- Innovations and Policy Support by Dr A Subba Rao, former Director of IISS, Bhupal on the occasion at 2.00pm to commemorate the world soil day celebrations.
