KVK, Palem organized world soil day celebrations on 05-12-2021 at RARS, Auditorium, Palem

KVK, Palem, Nagarkurnool dist organized World Soil Day Celebrations in collaboration with Agricultural College, Palem on 05.12.2021 at RARS, Auditorium, Palem. In this regard, KVK, Palem has organized training programme on "Halt Soil Salinization and Boost Soil Productivity" to create awareness among the farmers and students about effects of soil salinization and measure to improve soil productivity. Sri.K. Prasad Rao, AGM, SBI, Hyderabad has graced the programme and highlighted the importance of natural resource management for sustaining human life. Sri. I. Madhu Babu, Regional Manager, SBI, Gadwal and Sri.K.Noor Basha, Branch manager, Bijinepalle narrated about the bank policies and their support towards student education and credit support to the employees and institutions. Dr.S.Mahadevappa, Associate Dean i/c, Agriculture College, Palem emphasized about the importance of soil fertility, balanced fertilization in enhancing crop yields and sustaining soil fertility through soil test based nutrient management. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem discussed about factors influencing the soil degradation and measures to improve soil productivity. JD. Saritha, Asst. Professor has stressed about the importance of soil testing in fertilizer recommendations and explained the benefits of soil health cards. Mr.K. Ramakrishna, SMS (Crop Production), KVK, Palem has explained soil sampling procedure and interpretation of results. The programme was attended by farmers and students. All the staff members of KVK, Agriculture college and RARS, Palem graced the occasion. The programme was attended by about 182 participants.
