World soil day Celebrations at Agricultural College, Sircilla on 05.12.2022

Agricultural College, Sircilla organized World Soil Day-2022 at raithu vedika, Kasbe katkoor cluster, Thangallapll Mandal, Rajanna Sircilla (Dist.) on 5th December, 2022 with the theme of Soils: Where food Begins. Smt. P. Manasa, MPP, Sri. Aajaiah, Vice MPP, Sri. B. Devadas, PAC’s Chairman, V. Venu gopal Rao, Kasbe Katkoor Sarpach, Sri. RajiReddy, Mandal Raitu bandhu Samithi coordinator, Sri. Devender Yadav, PAC’s Director and Dr. G.P. Sunandini, I/C Assoiate Dean graced the occasion. Meeting started with introductory remarks given by Dr. G.P. Suandini sensitizing the students and farmers about history and importance of soil health day. Dr. P. Madhavi, Assistant Professor (SSAC) stressed the need and importance of integrated nutrient management practices viz., Incorporation of Organic manures, Green manure crops, Biofertilizers, crop residue management, crop rotation and importance of Soil testing for sustaining soil health and improving the crop productivity. Later, Dr. T. Arunbabu, Assistant Professor (AGRO) explained about the importance of Vermicompost in improving and maintaining soil fertility and its preparation at farmers level. Sri. A. Umarajasekhar, Assistant Professor (AMBE) described about the different biofertilizers and its use in INM. Dr. P. Madhavi, demonstrated the soil sampling procedure at farmer’s field followed by pledge by all the participants. AELP students exhibited posters and live specimens of Green manure crops, Biofertilizers, Fertilizers, Manures, Rocks and minerals. In this programme, Sri. Sandeep, AO, Sri. Chandra Prakash, AEO, Dr. R. Sathish, OISA, Dr. M. Sampath, Convenor, Village Adoption Committee, farmers, AELP students and high school students of Mandepally village were also participated.
