World Soil Day programme of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 05.12.2022

The world soil day programme was organized at Raythu Vedika in Thimmapur village on 5th December, 2022. Professor Jayasankhar Telangana State Agricultural University in coordination with state department of agriculture officers a joint programme was organized. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar and VAP chairman along with Dr. T. Ramesh, Senior Professor and University Head planned the interaction meeting. Programme was conducted to create awareness on importance of soils and how to protect the soils for next generation among the farming community regarding the World Soil Day 2022 theme ‘Soils: Where Food Begins’. Dr. Shailaja along with AELP students conducted the method demonstration on collection of soil samples from farmer’s field, demonstration of soil test kit and interpretation of results at farmer’s fields itself. Besides, soil profile model and soil types were shown. Dr. T. Ramesh, Senior Professor and University Head explained about the nutrient status of soils and its importance. Dr. K. Aruna created awareness about different crops in different soils. Dr. I. Shakuntala Devi explained about the cost of cultivation. Thereafter visited the chrysanthimum field and collected soil sample for analysis. In this programme Guduru Sarpanch Sri B. Sathaiah , MPP Sri P. Madusudan Reddy, AO, AEO, PACS chairman Padma Rao and twenty five farmers including progressive farmer Malla Reddy participated to make the progamme a grand success.
