World Water Day was conducted at Farm section, Agricultural College, Aswaraopet on 22-03-2021 to create awareness of the global water crisis and the core focus is to support the achievement of sustainable development. In the programme, Dr.M. Madhavi, Associate Dean enlightened the students about theme of programme is “Valuing Water” and also explained the students about significant role of water in our daily lives. Further, she also explained about garland’s river system and raising of irrigated dry crops instead of cultivating rice crop. Dr. Aldas Janaiah, Professor and Head, Dept. of Agril. Economics explained students about India’s happiness index and sustainable development of India. Dr.V.Venkanna, Associate Professor, Dept. of GBPR has discussed about the water wastage in hostel and home and explained the control measures at individual level. Dr. K. Gopal Krishna Murthy, Associate Professor, Dept. of GBPR stated how WALTA act, Mission Kakatiya and Haritha Haaram helpful to get water. Later NSS P.O. Dr.M. Ramprasad also explained the students about water quality in India and conservation measures of water. The faculty, students and non teaching staff participated in the programme. The event was organized by NSS P.Os Dr.M. Ramprasad and Smt.D. Sravanthi.
