World Water Day Celebration in Veldurthi Village of Jagtial District on 22-03-2021

World Water Day is an international observance day. The intention is to inspire people around the world to learn more about water-related issues and to take action to make a difference. In this connection Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial organized world water day in adopted village Veldurthi. In this programme importance of water in agriculture, water requirement for different crops, water conservation techniques in rice like alternate wetting and drying (A WD), mulching in irrigated dry crops, farm pond construction and maintenance, percolation pits for ground water recharge were discussed. Besides, micro irrigation methods to conserve water and fertilizers, maintenance of drip system were also being discussed. In this programme. scientists from Regional Agricultural Research Station. Polasa, Jagtial Dr.. P. Revathi, Mr.P. Madhukar Rao. Dr. N. Bairam. Dr. P Madhukar, Ms. N Navatha and Dr A Krishna Chaitanya, Mr. B Praveen, Sarpanch, Mr. Harish, AEO and farmers are participated in this event.
