APT, Tornala organized an Exposure Visit to Students of ZPHS, Tornala village, Siddipet on 04.01.2025

An exposure visit was organized by APT, Tornala to the students of ZPHS, Tornala on 04.01.2025 with an objective to give an insight into the research, teaching and extension working together for the benefit of farming community. At the outset, Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal, Tornala has welcomed the students and gave a brief note about APT, Tornala followed by the mandate of the all three institutes (ARS, APT & DAATTC) in Tornala with an overview of soil, water conservation technologies, different crops & experiments and also explained about cultivars and exhibits displayed in the information Centre of ARS, Tornala. Later, A. Sathish, Asst. Prof. (Agro.), APT, Tornala has explained about the importance of meteorological aspects in relation to the crop growth and development and how to measure the weather parameters with help of meteorological observatory. Further, Dr. T. Srijaya, Principal Scientist (SSAC) has explained about the lab equipment present in soil science laboratory and their working procedures, Sri. J. Vijay, Coordinator, DAATTC, Tornala explained about role of extension in transfer of technology, Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist explained about all various farm implements and machinery available at ARS along with its purpose, Dr. A. Rama Devi, Scientist (Ento) and Ms. Nikitha, TA (Entomology), APT, Tornala gave an overview about the crop protection laboratory of APT, important pest and diseases of major crops and their management strategies, Breeding scientists Dr. E. Uma Rani and Smt. A. Saritha explained about the breeding aspects in various crops. The programme was attended by the ZPHS, Tornala head mistress Smt. D. Saraswathi, 13 teachers, 65 students have participated in the programme.
