Director of Research, PJTSAU Visit to Agricultural Research Station – DAATTC, Karimnagar on 6th January, 2022

The Director of Research, PJTSAU, Dr. R. Jagadeeshwar accompanied by Technical Officer to Director of Research, Dr. V. Gowri Shankar and Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial, Dr.Uma Devi visited the Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar on 6th January, 2022 for technical and office inspection and reviewed the technical programme of work of all scientists. Firstly, the field visit of experimental plots of Breeding, Agronomy and Pathology were monitored and suggestions given for further improvement. The Crop Diversification Experiment was appreciated and suggested to build up all the relevant data pertaining to the various crops, sowing dates, influence of weather, pests, etc. The Director of Research reviewed scientist-wise technical aspects including all the field notebooks, experimental files, Basic Record of all disciplines of Agronomy, Breeding, Pathology and economics under cost of cultivation scheme, publications, monthly and Annual Reports, externally funded projects, etc. Later, verified all office files, cash books, Revolving Fund Register, FD Register, etc. Stock Files, PDSR, TDSR, Seed Stock, Farm Produce Register, etc. The session closed with the following final remarks.

  • The Director of Research appreciated the farm and technical maintenance.
  • Stressed on publication of above 6.5 NAAS Rating and submission of externally funded projects.
  • Establishment of maize value added processing unit.
  • Suggested to increase seed production of greengram and redgram in all vacant plots.
  • Preparation of knowledge material on Good Agricultural Practices for Maize cultivation in Telugu & English.
  • Mapping of crop diversification and economics in farmers’s fields.
  • Development of wilt sick plot and methodology for data collection, maintenance of cultures duly following the protocols.
