Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organized Audio Conference on Integrated Crop Management in Cotton in a collaboration with Reliance foundation on 11th and 12th August, 2021. In these programmes, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) has addressed the farmers about the nutrient management and different pest- disease infestation and their management in cotton and other major crops of Vanakalam and he also educated the farmers regarding different stress mitigation strategies to protect the crops from prolonged dry spells especially under rainfed condition. Dr.Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agril. Extension) explained the objectives of Jal Shakti Abhiyan and different methods. He stressed upon the importance of farmer’s producer organisations in modern agriculture phenomenon and added information on different activities done by the KVK, Bellampalli to educate the farmers towards construction of FPO’s. Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) explained about different nutrient management practices in cotton as well as paddy to reduce the indiscriminate use of fertilizers especially on the over utilization of Phosphorous based fertilizers. Dr. B. Sathish Kumar SMS (Agrometeorology) addressed the farmers about present rainfall status and rainfall forecast in the aspirational district of Kumrumbheem Asifabad and explained the farmers on the measures to be taken during the dryspell period. A total of 88 numbers of farmers were participated from Asifabad mandal (Adadasnapur, Kosara, Persanambal and Thumpally village); Keramari mandal (Chitaguda, Indapur, Keli B, Keramari, Surdhapur and Swangvi village); Chintalamanepally mandal (Balaji Ankonda, Gangapur, Mnepalli, Saidhapur, Gundaipet, Ranvelli, Tekamguda and Thumidiheti village), Kouthala mandal (Gondaipet) and Rebbena mandal (Jakkalapalli) of K.B Asifabad District.
