KVK, Palem organized farmers outreach programme on natural farming & farmers scientists interaction on 16.12.2021. On this day KVK, Palem organized webcasting of the honorable Prime Minister live interaction & discussion with the farmers on natural farming. The main theme of the programme is meant to reduce input costs by eliminating the need for expensive fertilizers and pesticides, and also protect soil health and conserve water resources, to promote the natural farming in farmer’s fields. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem) presented various methods of natural farming stressed more on usage of cow dung, cow urine, green manure crops to enhance the soil fertility & productivity. Dr. Susheela (PS, Agronomy, Palem) presented on preparation and usage of various organic decoctions like Beejamurtham, Jeevamrutham, Neemastram & Agniastram. After that suggested to farmers take up the natural farming is small area if the results and yields are encouraging than only go for large scale in cluster mode to get the higher net returns. Farmers were raised issues on natural farming all the scientists clarified & suggested the suitable management methods. In this programme 12 staff members, 45 students and 116 farmers were participated.
