National farmers day celebrations at adopted village nagulamailla village ARS, Karimnagar

National Farmers Day was celebrated at adopted village of Nagulamallial of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar District on 23rd December, 2024. Dr.G.Manjulatha Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head sensitized the farmers to go for good agricultural practices for reaping high benefits along with conservation of natural resources for future generations sustenance. Dr. P. Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) and Adopted Village Incharge has delivered a lecture on Best management practices in Sesame and Pulses. Dr. G. Usharani, Scientist (Plant Breeding) detailed the farmers on the Suitable varieties and time of sowing of sesamum and pulses. Dr.M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) have detailed the major pest and disease incidence and necessary precautionary and control measures to be followed y the farmers in major crops of the village. The farmer Mitta Laxmaiah has been involved in the practicing of latest technologies of PJTAU and also been associated with all the activities carried out in the adopted village since the previous years and thus has been identified, encouraged and honoured as the Progressive Farmer among the farmers of the village on the eve of National Farmers Day. The programme was followed by Field Diagnostic visits in farmers fields of paddy nursery, maize, moringa and groundnut and necessary precautionary and remedial measures were suggested to the farmers. Around 52 farmers from Nagulamallial, Baddipally and Kondapur and Sri Tirupathi (AEO) of Kothapally Karimnagar have participated in the programme.
