One day training program on Novel seed Production Technologies in Field Crops was organised at ARS, Tandur by SRTC, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, on 20-02-2024.

One day training program on Novel seed Production Technologies in Field Crops was organised at Agriculture Research Station, Tandur by Seed Research and Technology Centre (SRTC), PJTSAU, Hyderabad, on 20-02-2024. The program was started with inaugural address by Dr C Sudharani Principal Scientist & Head, ARS, Tandur by explaining the importance of quality seed production by reducing the cost of cultivation and improving the farm returns. Later, different scientists from SRTC and ARS, Tandur explained about the seed production technologies in crops like Redgram, Paddy, Sorghum and best management practices to improve crop fields and pest and disease management in crops specific to the zone. The technical aspects of quality seed production in crops like selection of land, collection of seed f from authentic source and removal of off types, identification of off types etc., was explained by the scientists and the queries were answered by the staff members. The program was attended by Dr. C. Sudhakar, Dr. V. Swarnalatha, Dr. K. Prabhavathi, Dr. K. Sukumar, Dr. T. Rajeshwar Reddy and Dr. K. Sujatha. Total 78 farmers from 11 different villages of Vikarabad district has attended, ADA Sri. T. Rudra Murthy along with his MAO’s and AEO’s have attended and interacted with farmers. The program concluded with visit to Safflower, Jowar and Redgram seed production plots.
